Bellwork: Why study energy?
Students watched some video clips and read the 2015 EPA report on CO2 emissions in the US. They are collecting information to make a decision on whether they believe global warming is man made.

- Intent of bell work was to get students thinking about effective slides for their team presentations

- Teams worked on their assigned topics which were:
1. Coal
2. Natural gas
3. Crude oil
4. Fracking
5. Solar
6. Wind
7. Hydroelectric
8. Nuclear
9. Nuclear waste
10. Hybrids and Electric Cars
11. Future energy resources
- Goal: Answer questions directed to each team and educate the rest of the class

Students continued to research their assigned energy source. Students will be presenting their work to the class on Monday.

Students were assigned in groups of 6 to develop an energy plan for America in the year 2040. This project will last several days.

Students had the goals for today to create 3 SMART Goals for their presentation and a pie chart showing how energy will be used in 2040.

Bellwork: none. Students turned in their Bellwork sheets for a grade.
Students continued to work on their plans. I emphasized with students that they must address question #4 A-F on the assignment directions sheet in their presentations. Goals for today's class were to create the consumption chart for 2040 and the cost of their plan.
